Cards From E98 Find to be Displayed at Long Beach Expo

More cards from the ‘Black Swamp Find’ that recently generated national headlines will be publicly exhibited for the first time on the West Coast at the Long Beach Coin, Stamp & Collectibles Expo September 6-8.

Chief Meyers E98 PSA 10Two Honus Wagner cards, a PSA 9 Ty Cobb, a PSA 10 Chief Meyers and others will go on display during the show at the Long Beach Convention Center.

The first three lots from the Ohio attic find of more than 700 virtually untouched 1910 E98 cards recently sold at auction for more than $550,000 after being on display at the National Sports Collectors Convention in Baltimore.

It’s believed they had been in a family home in Defiance, OH for a century, resting in a box and wrapped with twine.  The original homeowner had run a meat market during the time in which they were made.  Intended for distribution with the purchase of caramels, most feel they never made it into consumer hands.  The cards were likely brought home, left in a box and not discovered until the last surviving resident of the home passed away last year and heirs gathered to go through the contents of the house.

Here’s a list of the cards collectors can see in person at Long Beach:Black Swamp Ty Cobb PSA 9
