Prince Harry’s Blond Las Vegas Hook Up Is In JAIL!

This is a surprising and scandalous turn of events!

It turns out that Carrie Reichert, the blond Brit who told tabloids she made out with Prince Harry in Las Vegas, isn’t just a liar — she’s a criminal!

The San Diego-based beautician was taken into custody on August 24 while trying to board a plane in the SoCal city that was flying to Mexico. She’s a wanted woman in Harrison County, Mississippi for writing four bad checks starting in 2003 that were worth a total of $21,672!

Now she’s in jail and is facing felony fraud charges. Here’s what a source close to the situation said:

“Customs matched her up at the airport. She was fixing to go out of the country, but we had them snatch her up. She didn’t get to go on her little weekend adventure … How stupid can you be? You know you’ve got warrants on bad checks you’ve written. After 9/11, you know we’re checking everyone on every flight.”

After Reichert’s tabloid story came out a couple days ago, in which she says she’s 32, her ex-husband came forward to call her out. And it turns out he was completely right!

Inmate records from a Santee, California detention center list her as 40-years-old!

We could care less about this woman’s age and don’t have any idea why should would lie about it in the first place, but this definitely makes her claims of playing tonsil hockey with a royal prince a little less believable.

Chargers expect Vincent Brown to be back this season

AP

According to Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune, the Chargers believe that wide receiver Vincent Brown will be able to come back in the second half of the season and contribute after he recovers from his broken ankle.

Chargers’ Vincent Brown breaks his ankle

According to Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union Tribune, Chargers wide receiver Vincent Browns suffered a broken ankle in Saturday night’s preseason game against the Cowboys.  He’ll likely be out for the next eight weeks.

Vincent Brown has broken ankle. Expected to miss at least eight weeks. That means at least five games, probably.

Vincent Brown will have surgery tomorrow on broken ankle. This is big … Said one veteran: “He’s our best receiver.”

— UTKevinAcee (@UTKevinAcee) August 19, 2012

This is certainly a big blow to the Chargers offense, since they were expecting big things from Brown this season.  Now he’ll be forced to miss a good part of the season.

Ryan Mathews says he’ll be ready for week one

AP Photo

According to ProFootballTalk.com, San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews told XTRA Sports 1560 that he has “no doubt” that he’ll be ready for their season opener against the Oakland Raiders on Monday Night Football.

Earlier today we mentioned that there’s some belief that Mathews won’t be back until October, because of how long it takes for a clavicle to heal.

I have my doubts that Mathews will be ready for the Chargers’ season opener.

Ryan Mathews likely out until October

AP Photo

Dr. Neil Ghodadra told Jason Smith of NFL.com that San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathew likely won’t be back on the field until October.

Ghodadra was the team doctor for the Chicago White Sox and Bulls and says that it will likely take Mathews about eight weeks to be ready.

“It takes six weeks for the bone to heal,” Ghodadra said. “Even after you fix it with the clavicle plate and screws, the bone still has to heal, so you are looking at six weeks for that at minimum. Studies have shown 8.8 weeks is how long it takes for NFL players to get back from clavicle fractures.”

I wouldn’ even think about drafting Mathews for my fantasy team this season.

NFL reportedly planning on using replacement officials during the regular season

AP Photos

According to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, the NFL is now planning on using replacement officials during the regular season.

“League executives said Monday they now foresee starting the 2012 regular season with replacement officials,” reported Mortensen.

With the way these officials have been calling games during the preseason, the NFL would be stupid to not strike a deal with the regular officials.

Ryan Mathews’ fractured clavicle “is not that bad”

AP Photo

According to Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune, he’s been hearing that Chargers running back Ryan Mathews’ fractured clavicle “is not that bad.”

I’m not sure how a broken bone isn’t bad.  I guess it could be a clean break, which is a good things.  But at the end of the day, it’s not good sign when a running back like Mathews suffers a broken clavicle after the first hit of the game.

The Chargers have stated that they don’t plan on signing any free agent running backs with Mathews out.  Ronnie Brown will take over as the starter for now.

Ryan Mathews knocked out of Chargers preseason opener with shoulder injury

The San Diego Chargers are looking for running back Ryan Mathews to have a big season. Unfortunately Mathews only carried the ball one time and was immediately knocked out of tonight’s game with a shoulder injury.

Mathews is certainly a talented running back, but this has been his biggest problem in his short career, he can’t stay healthy.

NFL Referee’s Association has a list of offciating errors from the HoF game

The NFL Referee’s Association was paying close attention to Sunday night’s Hall of Fame game between the Arizona Cardinals and the New Orleans Saints.  They wrote up a report to keep track of the officiating errors made during the game.

“Professional NFL officials are graded after every game,” NFLRA counsel Michael Arnold said in a release, per ProFootballTalk.com.  ”Several of the NFL Referee Association’s officials who grade for Division-I college conferences did a review of the Hall of Fame Game working from a recording of the television feed.  Normally, there would be an opportunity to also view the ‘Coaches’ Tape, which provides two views of every play, but multiple costly errors were still evident.  Numerous errors in field mechanics, game administration and even the coin toss negatively impacted the quality of the game.”

The thing that really stuck out to me about Sunday night’s game is that there wasn’t one holding call made for the entire game.  I wonder if they noticed the players that were mocking the bad officiating as the game went on.

First female official to work preseason game this Thursday

According to Sam Farmer of the Los Angeles Times, Shannon Eastin will work this Thursday’s preseason game that features the Green Bay Packers against the San Diego Chargers.  She is the first female official to ever be a part of an NFL officiating crew.

Of course the only reason Eastin has a oppuruntiy to officiate in the NFL is because the regular league officials are on strike.

It’s great to see a female NFL official.  I would hope that sooner or later this would be a reality even with the regular league officiating crews.

Roger Goodell says football needs to be included in the Olympics

Getty Images

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell believes that football should be included as an Olympic sport.  He told Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com on the Dan Patrick show, that he’s been taking the necessary steps to be recognized by the International Olympic Committee.

“Absolutely. We’re already taking steps to gain that IOC recognition. We have, I think, 64 countries that are playing American football now, and that’s one of the requirements. That’s been growing dramatically — I think it was 40 just five years ago,” Goodell said.

Goodell’s goal is to help the game of football to continue to grow.

“Our point is just to keep growing the game,” Goodell said. “We’re having a tremendous reaction in London and the UK for the game of football, our regular season game over there is sold out again this year, we are seriously contemplating as early as 2013 playing two NFL games next season and I think we’ll do that. It’s a response to the tremendous fan reaction and the growth of the game. If we can continue to grow the game there and have the fan reaction that we have, there very well may be a franchise in London.”

I think football would be a great olympic sport, but who would play?  NFL players would never sign up for the Olympics with the chance of ruining their careers by suffering an injury.  I believe they would rather be injured in an NFL game where their fighting for a Super Bowl ring.

John Madden doesn’t believe in the “Madden Curse”

Former NFL television commentator and the creator of the Madden football video game–John Madden–says he doesn’t believe in the “Madden curse.”

“I was on the cover for several years, and I never once even pulled a hamstring,” Madden said, breaking into a laugh, per the Detroit Free-Press. “It’s a violent sport. Injuries are going to happen.”

“If there was such a thing (as a curse), you couldn’t ask for a better man to prove that wrong than who we’ve got this year,” Madden said about Johnson. “He might be as close to indestructible as we’ve ever had on the cover. Maybe I shouldn’t say that…that might…I’m not going to talk about that any more.”

I’ll be honest I don’t believe in the curse either, injuries are very common in the NFL.

Antonio Gates running past cornerbacks in training camp

Getty Images

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, San Diego Chargers tight end Antonio Gates looks thinner and is running very well in practice.

“The best thing is, he can actually run,” said Rapoport on Inside Training Camp Live on Tuesday via ProFootballTalk.com. “… He’s in shape. He looks skinny. He was burning cornerbacks left and right in practice. … He is feeling healthier now than he’s been in a couple of years.

“He is really looking like he’s primed for a big, big season.”

Over the past few years Gates has battled numerous injuries.  Last season many people thought he was out of shape.  Losing weight should help him stay healthy and be more productive on the field.

Chargers sign Aubrayo Franklin, Jackie Battle & release Kris Dielman

Getty Images

The San Diego Chargers were busy making roster moves on Friday with training camp less than a week away.  They signed free agent defensive lineman Aubrayo Franklin and running back Jackie Battle.

Battle put up some nice numbers last season for the Chiefs.  He carried the ball 149 times for 597 yards and 2 touchdowns.

The Chargers also released veteran offensive lineman Kris Dielman.  It looks like he’ll end up retiring.

Ryan Mathews says he’s in much better shape this season

Getty Images

San Diego Chargers running back Ryan Mathews told XTRA Sports 1360 in San Diego with Chris & Ben (via SportsRadioInterviews.com) that he’s in better shape heading into training camp this year, then he was last season.

“Huge, huge difference. I’m in way better shape this time than I was last year and I just feel good about myself. I really do. I feel real confident and like I said my trainer Jeff has been helping me on the little things with ball security and working my way through tight spaces and explosion and stuff, so it’s going to be a good deal and it’s going to be real fun.”

Mathews has to come this year and really prove that he can a much more consistent threat out of the back field for the Chargers.
