Looking at Patriots RB Shane Vereen’s night as the team’s starting tailback. P T.J. Conley doesn’t expect the Jets to bring in competition for…

Michael Vick: I can’t keep taking hits like that

Eagles quarterback Michael Vick avoided broken ribs on Monday, but reminded the Eagles of the constant injury risk that comes with his style of play. According to wide receiver DeSean Jackson, Vick knows that he needs to try something different in order to stay on the field. Jackson recounted his halftime conversation with Vick during…

Michael Vick leaves game after big hit in first quarter

The Patriots are resting most of their starters on Monday night and the Eagles are probably wishing they made the same choice. Michael Vick got pasted by Patriots linebacker Jermaine Cunningham on the first play of the Eagles’ second possession and was grimacing noticeably when he rose to his feet. He went back down to…

Andy Reid talks up Nick Foles

Eagles coach Andy Reid thinks rookie quarterback Nick Foles is going to be a valuable commodity in Philadelphia some day. The only question is whether that will be on the field in an Eagles uniform, or in a trade. Foles has been working with the No. 2 offense while Michael Vick’s primary backup, Mike Kafka, [...]

Eagles QB Vick will practice, but Kafka has a broken hand

The Eagles have a quarterback with a broken non-throwing hand. But it’s not Michael Vick. According to a stream of tweets from the Eagles’s official Twitter account this morning, the quarterback repetitions will get a bit of a turn today. We already knew X-rays on Vick’s throwing hand were negative after he banged his hand [...]

Nick Foles has a shot at backing up Michael Vick

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Andy Reid was asked if rookie quarterback Nick Foles has a chance at beating out Mike Kafka for the number two job.

“Absolutely,” Reid said. “They’re all in it.”

Jeff McLane of the Philadelpia Inquirer believes Reid is telling the truth.

“Reid typically won’t rule out any player in a position battle, but my hunch says there’s some truth in Foles’ chances to unseat Kafka,” wrote McLane

I agree with McLane, there’s no way that Kakfa’s job as the Eagles’ number two quarterback shouldn’t be up for grabs.  He was anything but impressive when he was on the field last season.

PFT Preseason Power Rankings No. 8: Philadelphia Eagles

After the Eagles’ terribly disappointing 2011 season ended with an 8-8 record and no playoff berth, owner Jeffrey Lurie passed on the chance to make wholesale changes to the team. Andy Reid and Michael Vick return, DeSean Jackson and LeSean McCoy got new contracts and the team stayed away from the big-name offseason additions that…

5 Best Available QBs in 2012 NFL Draft

There were four quarterbacks taken in the first round of the 2011 NFL draft. There is a good chance that it will take three rounds in this draft before the fourth quarterback is taken.

That does not mean, however, that this quarterback class is weak. Andrew Luck is the best quarterback prospect to come out of college in a decade, and Robert Griffin III is not far behind him.

Add in Nick Foles, Brandon Weeden and Ryan Tannehill.
