The Situation Sues Nightclub Promoters For $60K!

The Jersey Shore is over and now The Situation is squeezing every dime he can out of the fame that arose from the MTV show.

Since Las Vegas nightclubs Chateau and Gallery only booked the reality star for a $30K appearance ONCE before June 30th, he’s suing a promotion company that promised him THREE paid appearances before that date.

One night with the guido is apparently worth what most Americans make in a year, so he’s suing Diversified Entertainment for $60K because the two parties struck a “pay or play” deal.

Basically, The Situation feels the company didn’t live up to its end of the bargain and wants a lot more money for doing a lot more nothing.

But will he get it? Stay tuned!

Dolphins make it official, Ryan Tannehill is their starting quarterback

AP

According to Izzy Gould of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin has announced that rookie Ryan Tannehill will be their starting quarterback heading into the regular season.

Starting Tannehill gives the Dolphins the best chance to win right now, even though he’s a rookie.

Report: Signs continue to point to Ryan Tannehill as the Dolphins week one starter

AP

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, it still looks like rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill will be the Dolphins starter going into the regular season.

“All signs continue to point to Ryan Tannehill being the guy this week & for season opener,” said Schefter via Evan Silva.

I can’t imagine Matt Moore winning the starting job over Tannehill.

Dolphins may name their starting quarterback by next week

AP

Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin told Izzy Gold of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel that they may decide on a starting quarterback soon, but right now they still don’t know who it’s going to be.

“We may have a decision soon (on a starting quarterback), or we may play it out another week,” Philbin said. “That’s still up in the air. We certainly haven’t come to any decision on that right now.”

With David Garrard injured until the regular season, I don’t see him being on the final 53-man roster and I believe Ryan Tannehill will be the Dolphins starter going into the regular season.

Reggie Bush doesn’t seem to crazy about “Hard Knocks”

AP

Miami Dolphins running back Reggie Bush was on The Dan Patrick Show via SportsRadioInterviews and was asked whether he thinks it’s a good or bad idea that his team is featured on HBO’s Hard Knocks.

“I don’t know if it’s good or bad but it is what it is right now,” said Bush.  “We have it so let’s make the best of it. That’s our mentality. I think you can make a case for both situations. When I was in New Orleans Coach Payton opted not to do ‘Hard Knocks’ so I think you can make a case for both. Some coaches may feel that it’s more of a distraction, some coaches may use it as fuel to bring back passion to the football team and do it for the fans purposes. So while you have it you make the most of it but you still have a job to do and you still have to focus in and kind of go about your business as if the cameras aren’t even there.”

Bush was asked if the only place he can escape the cameras is at home.

“Yeah, home. The house. That’s where you can go,” said Bush.  “Your house or the hotel room now obviously because we’re in training camp. That’s kind of my home away from home for right now and my chance to kind of escape, relax and do whatever it is I need to do whether it’s studying, relaxing or catching up on ESPN.”

Bush also stated that he’s not too happy about having cameras around him.

AP

“I’ve never been one to welcome cameras around especially in my personal life so I’m a guy, I like my privacy and keep my private things private whether it’s friendships, relationships, business or whatever it is I like to keep private and I like to stay there. I feel like there is a time and a place for cameras obviously,” Bush Said.  “During football games whether you’re doing some media stuff after games, postgame, before a game, commercials and stuff like that, there’s a time and place for it so I think going back to college I’ve grown accustomed to it and try to make the most of it while I have it because I feel like obviously for us it’s a way for fans to get a chance to see who we are outside of football or just a way for them to connect with some of their favorite athletes and football teams.”

Report: Ryan Tannehil to start Friday night

AP Photo

According to Marc Hotchman of 790 The Ticket in Miami, Dick Stockton announced on 790 The Ticket that rookie quarterback Ryan Tanneill will start for the Dolphins on Friday night against the Panthers.

Legendary broadcaster Dick Stockton just said on 790 The Ticket that Ryan Tannehill is starting for the Miami Dolphins tonight.

— Marc Hochman (@MarcHochman) August 17, 2012

Tannehill looked pretty good last week, it’s time to see what he can do against the opposing team’s starting defense.

David Garrard may not make the Dolphins final roster

AP Photo

Ben Volin of the Palm Beach Post believes veteran quarterback David Garrard will end up not making the Miami Dolphins 53-man roster.

“At quarterback, you’ll notice a glaring omission from the depth chart: David Garrard. That’s not a mistake. It’s not looking good for Garrard to make the roster now that he’s out at least another three weeks following knee surgery.

“The big issue with Garrard is that, as a vested veteran, his entire $2.25 million salary becomes guaranteed if he’s on the Week 1 roster. If Ryan Tannehill continues to play well and grabs the starting job, it makes Garrard more expendable, especially with a healthy Matt Moore as a solid backup. Plus, with Garrard’s injury history – he hasn’t played a game since 2010 – it’s hard to see the Dolphins guaranteeing him his salary when he’s no certainty to even play a snap this year.

“More likely, the Dolphins will reach an injury settlement with Garrard and release him, and second-year pro Pat Devlin, who has held his own this camp, will slide into the No. 3 quarterback spot. The biggest reason to keep Garrard would be if Tannehill looks awful during the rest of the preseason, but so far he has looked very good,” wrote Volin.

I can definitely see Garrard not making the Dolphins’ final roster.  Matt Moore is a viable quarterback even though he hasn’t looked good in practice and rookie Ryan Tannehill might be ready to start sooner rather than later.

Chad Johnson loses an endorsement deal

AP Photo

According to ESPN’s Darren Rovell, coconut water brand Zico has dropped Chad Johnson as one their endorsers after his arrest this past weekend for domestic violence.

“Chad Johnson’s difficult week continued Wednesday, as coconut water brand Zico dropped the wide receiver from its endorsement roster.

“The drink company told ESPN.com that Johnson’s endorsement deal, just announced on July 25, is over,” Rovell reported.

“The Zico brand is about supporting naturally powered athletes,” the company said in a statement, per Rovell. “We partnered with Chad Johnson because of our great respect for what he has achieved on the playing field.

“However, in light of recent events involving Mr. Johnson, we have decided to terminate our relationship. The values we espouse, through our employees, our customers and our brand, are central to our mission. We have taken this proactive step to demonstrate just how important those values are.”

It looks like things just keep getting worse for Johnson.

Chad Johnson releases a statement regarding his recent arrest

AP Photo

According to OCNN.com, Chad Johnson has released the following statement regarding his recent arrest for domestic violence against his wife Evelyn Lozada, who has now filed for divorce.

I would like to apologize to everyone for the recent events that have occurred.  I would like to wish Evelyn well and will never say anything bad about her because I truly love her to death. I will continue to be positive and train hard for another opportunity in the NFL. To all the fans and supporters I have disappointed, you have my sincerest apologies.  I will stay positive and get through this tough period in my life.

Ryan Tannehill may have a shot at being the Dolphins week one starter

Getty Images

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter via Evan Silva of Rotoworld.com, Miami Dolphins rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill is making a run at winning the starting job.

“Looks more & more like he’s making a real run at the Dolphins’ starting quarterback job,” said Schefter.

With David Garrard recovering from surgery and Matt Moore not looking very impressive in camp, Tannehill might have a shot at being the week one starter after an impressive preseason performance last week.

Report: Evelyn Lozada divorcing Chad Johnson

AP Photo

According to Debbie Emery of RadarOnline.com, Evelyn Lozada is divorcing former Dolphins wide receiver Chad Johnson just six weeks after getting married and three days after getting into a domestic dispute.

“In light of allegations of both domestic assault and a pre-marital affair, Basketball Wives star Evelyn Lozada is taking a strong stance against her estranged husband Chad “Ochocino” Johnson by filing for divorce after less than six weeks of marriage.

“The legal papers are expected to be filed in a Miami, Florida courtroom within the next 48 hours, RadarOnline.com can exclusively reveal,” reported Emery.

I said it before and I’ll say it again, it’s amazing where one bad decision will lead someone.  Johnson not only lost his job, but now’s he’s lost his wife.

Dolphins player on Chad Johnson: “We don’t need no clowns here”

AP Photo

According to Armando Salguero of The Miami Herald, one unanimous Dolphins player is happy that Chad Johnson is no longer on the team.

“This is a solid locker room we don’t need no clowns here,” the player texted Salguero.

That’s pretty harsh, since I really believe we don’t know the entire story of what happened with Johnson and his wife Evelyn Lozada.  I’m not saying Chad is innocent, but some people are too quick to rush to judgement.
