CLARENCE, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities in New York say ESPN analyst and former NHL forward Matthew Barnaby has been charged with drunken driving after driving erratically in an SUV that was missing a front tire.
The Erie County Sheriff’s office says Barnaby was driving Sunday on the sparking rim of a Porsche Cayenne with front-end damage in the Buffalo suburb of Clarence, where he lives. He was arrested after failing field sobriety tests and refusing a breath test.
The 38-year-old had his license revoked and was given appearance tickets for Clarence Town Court. His lawyer wasn’t immediately available to comment Monday.
Barnaby was ordered to perform community service earlier this year after a domestic incident.
Barnaby broke into the NHL with the Buffalo Sabres during the 1992-93 season. He’s been at ESPN since 2008
